Waiting...

Ugh!!!!! Why can't auditions tell you right then and there if you got in or not? Oh no, you have to wait for either a letter and/or an email to confirm whether you got in or got chopped. It's agonizing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did my audition for PBT last Sunday and it's been nearly a week, can't you guys send the letter faster!! *sigh* Ok I feel better. On a calmer note, I went up and took class with Jose at TDC(Temecula Dance Company) yesterday and saw some of my old friends that I did the Nutcracker with. And I got to see my sister(she's just a good friend that has branded herself my sister, don't ask me why)!!!! She finally on pointe and couldn't be happier.

Happy pointe girl!!!!
The hugging doesn't work quite as well now that she's taller.
Pretty feet, not for long!!
Oh the things we come up with!

Mish-mash

I wasn't sure what to call this post because it's about a lot of different subjects. So mish-mash won the toss!! So I passed my first anatomy test and my first theory of asain bodywork quiz. YAY!!!!! I have since decided that it's a good thing that I'm not leaning in the direction of Asian massage. It is so confusing I would probably blow a fuse before the end of the second quarter! I'm not sure I'll get through this quarter without losing it!!! I have my CPR course/test on Monday, hope that goes well. Changing the subject, I had my audition for Pittsburgh Ballet Theater (PBT) today and I felt like I did really good. I had a nice chat with the instructor after the class and felt good about his positive attitude towards me. Here's my 2011 audition picture for you guys to look at.
I could pick this picture apart...but I'm not.
That's one thing I don't like about dancers, we're way to critical on ourselves.

Fun at the beach!!

Had a job today down in San Diego...a princess birthday party for a 2-year-old! I mean come on!!! Hiring a horse and carriage for a 2-year-old, but whatever floats their boat and I hope I didn't offend anyone. Anyway, Alden and I got talking about riding and I told her that I've always wanted to ride on the beach. So she abruptly changed lanes on the south bound 15 and said "Well then let's go to Fiesta Island and you can ride." So that's what we did. We had Loomis and he did pretty well, he's still not to thrilled with water but he was a trooper and let us push him in.

A random family came up and we let the kids feed him horse cookies.
My model pic with a horse and water!!! lol
We weren't really aware of the ground on the island and it turned out that that particular part of the ground was very muddy and squishy. No sooner then the picture above was taken then he stepped off a small drop-off and sunk up to his belly in mud. So of course he's lunging to try and get out, I'm trying to move so I don't get trample and Alden's cracking up on shore. By the time he got himself free he was soaking wet, I was soaking wet and Alden was still laughing. Despite the circumstances I hopped on and road for a while.
After our little dip. Wet horse, wet jeans...who cares!!!
Another random family. Taking a clydesdale down to the beach is a trip!!!

We were so happy he got back into the water after his unintentional swim.
All around fun day!!!

Changes

Well, changes are happening right and left and it's not my favorite. Going through changes that is. Some can be good and others not so good. I started Mueller College for Holistic Studies this past Monday, yesterday, and so far it's been pretty good. Though some of the content is kinda weird (being spiritual, grounding yourself, meditation, visualization, zodiac voodoo...) I keep reminding myself that God is in this stuff...somewhere. And I also started dancing at San Diego Ballet yesterday as well. I will say, I was not a happy camper this morning when I woke up. My first class back in 2 weeks and I felt like I was hit by a bulldozer! After tonights class I don't feel all that much better, but it'll 'hopefully' get easier SOON!! Had a pretty hard day today, but I got through it. Now it's time to study and then wonderful bed!!!

*sigh*

Ok, I've been really bad about posting and I'm so sorry. All the shows finished without a hitch. YEAH!!!!! The whole cast of Nutcracker 2010 made a huge 10ft poster for the teachers that we had all signed and we presented it to them right after the curtain fell on the last show. Jimmy kept telling us that we were part of the FIRST annual Nutcracker at TDC. Even though I've done a lot of Nutcrackers it felt cool to be apart of the first one for them. After the last show, Mommy and I went out to Denny's with a great friend of mine and her mom for desert. When we got there and started to look at the menu, real food started to look really appealing. So I got breakfast instead of ice cream. After we got home and kind of unpacked the car, I ended up crawling in bed at 11:52pm. The next day, so Thursday, we had technique class, which didn't happen. Jose, Dana, and all us students had a fun day and sat around eating cookies and watching Don Quixote for 2 and a half hours. So that's the end of that chapter for me. Here's a recap of the last couple months!!

Setting waltz of the flowers
Us girls hanging out waiting for rehearsal to start
Yes this did happen a lot!
Most of the time, this loverly Dr. kept me going
Fooling around during a break
Snow Queen, me, with my flakes

Sugar Plum Fairy and Dew Drop Fairy.
One of my many wonderful teachers to learn from.

Show #1..CHECK!!

I'm so sorry, it has been forever since I last posted here. Let's see, the last I posted was Jimmy had his radar on me and blah blah blah....Oh yeah! Ok so dress rehearsal went relatively smoothly, but it was long. All the dancers had to be there at 3:15pm and we finally got done at about 10:30pm. The worst part about it was Jimmy band us from eating in the theater and in our costumes...so we didn't get a bite of food from start to end of dress! That was one big issue, one of the others was the snow. One of my parts is snow queen so during the whole snow waltz Jimmy wanted snow falling on the front of the stage. And when I say snow I'm talking little pieces of floating plastic that cause death if you step on it. So I spent the whole 1st half of dress and the 1st show trying to avoid this deathly snow. The show itself went pretty well, much better then the rest of us thought it was going to go. Here are some pics of dress rehearsal!
Snow Queen, lovingly made by Mommy
This was before dress started. Mommy wanted a good picture of me in both my costumes. Now I just need one in Dew Drop.

He's on to me...

Well today was the first day Jimmy has really gotten on my case about my dancing. I was doing dew drop and I could hear him telling Jose. "She needs to make it bigger, elongate it, stand out from the core." Jose gestures to me. "Yell at her bro." Jimmy promptly turns to me and yells, "You need to make it bigger! You're blending into the core and you're not standing out. You need to earn the spotlight and keep it." Got it Jimmy, workin' on it!!
